Recommended Things to Do in the Lower Keys
There are many other activities to enjoy in the Florida Keys while you are here visiting. If you family is joining you and they do not wish to come fishing, there are plenty of activities to keep them busy.
Kayaking Tours – located at Sugarloaf Marina, Captain Andrea Paulson runs an out island kayaking tour. Rates are reasonable and she provides kayaks and beach chairs. She will lead you on a tour through mangrove islands and across sandy flats where you can swim and just relax in the beautiful backcountry waters.
Dry Tortugas Trips – Visit Fort Jefferson and the Dry Tortugas, 70 miles west of Key West, FL. Trips are by seaplane and by boat. The Fort can be done as a self-tour and snorkel gear is provided to view the beautiful coral and sealife along the moat wall.
Sightseeing around Key West – Take a tour of our island by bicycle or on the famous Conch Tour Train. Each slice of history on the island is explained.
Key West Aquarium – Located at the foot of Whitehead Street this aquarium has undergone a complete facelift. Learn about the fish and creatures in our local waters and see them up close.
